Serving as a Merit Badge Counselor is critical to the operation of a troop. Thank you for agreeing to serve in this capacity. Each
Merit Badge Counselor must complete a Merit Badge Counselor application AND an adult leader application for Lake Minnetonka District.
The District maintains the merit badge list; consequently, you must complete a District application even if you are a Troop leader.
To register as a Merit Badge Counselor, mark the box labeled "Council/district position" in the upper
right-hand block with "Merit Badge Counselor." Fill in the "Position Code" with code "42," and fill in the "Position (Description)"
with "Merit Badge Counselor." Appproval takes 4-6 weeks. It is critical that you update this information BEFORE you
approve any Merit Badge requests from scouts.
If you add additional merit badges, you must resubmit the Counselor
Application Form with the new merit badges. You do not need a new adult application if you are within the annual renewal
dates.
