Troop 283 Camping Program
Camping has a long tradition in scouting. It adds a unique dimension to youth experiences not easily found in other settings. The mission of the camping program is to provide safe outdoor experiences that further develop leadership, and life skills that are fun, challenging and embody the scout oath and the scout law.
Northern Star Council Camps are some of the best camps in the nation with highly rated programs and attendance. In addition, Troop 283 utilizes beautiful, regional nature reserves and camp areas.
Camping outings scheduled throughout the year provide many opportunities for scouts to work on rank advancement and merrit badges. Opportunities for High Adventure are also available.
Registration for each camping event is necessary. The camping events are posted though out the year and are listed on Calendar, coded in red. In addition, the registration forms and other information regarding the campouts are linked to the event listed on the calendar. Click the event on the calendar.
