My project was building a horse manure containment at Crow-Hassan Park Riverbend camp site. It is a three sided open top box about 18 feet by 12 feet. The lumber used were 6"x6"and we used a lot of 10 inch spikes to hold them together. I had about 12 guys total working with me on it and we did it in just under 8 hours. In the middle there was 10 tons of class five gravel. The project was done for the park service and for the people who use the facilities. People ride their horses around the park and then they camp at that site so they use the barn there and they are good to go. However they are required to clean out the stalls before they leave and there needed to be a place for the manure to go, hence, my project. (Luke M.)
