Merit Badge Opportunity - Climbing - Vertical Endeavors - High Adventure, March 3, 2007
For our climbing merit badge we went to Vertical Endeavors and started our Saturday out early, 7 a.m. We met at church and headed straight for St. Paul. The place was in a warehouse with huge walls and even overhead climbing. We started climbing almost straight away. They had auto belays which were really cool, they are hydraulic system that let you could climb on your own. Once you get to the top of a wall you would float back down to the ground. In our lesson we learned knot tying, belaying and repelling with us holding the ropes, climbing commands and rope handling. Although your hands and arms really began to hurt by the time you were done, it was extremely fun and you learned a ton about climbing. We got to climb a lot. I would recommend this to everyone.
