November 3 - 5, 2006, Stearns Heritage - Thanksgiving Campout. "We left Wayzata Community Church Friday evening and drove to the Heritage Campsite at Stearns Boy Scout Camp. On the way to the camp we stopped at Dairy Queen for a Blizzard. After we unpacked the troop trailer and set up our gear in the bunk house, we watched a movie and had a popcorn party before going to bed.

Saturday we made breakfast inside using electric griddles and a commercial stove. Some of the scouts built rockets. Later the rockets were shot off. After lunch we hiked and had a orienteering course, which I enjoyed. Other scouts later played Frisbee Golf and went on a hike.

For dinner we made a Thanksgiving feast. One turkey was boiled in oil, another was smoked, and another was made in a conventional oven. There was stuffing, mashed potatoes, french fries, beans, cookies, and salad. I enjoyed all three turkeys.

Some of the adult leaders slept outside in tents. The scouts slept in the bunk house." (William)
