Scouts Attended Ripley Rendezvous 2007
Our Trip to the Ripley Rendezvous was an exicting experience. Camp Ripley is military training center for all branches of the service. Being such a large place it was a great place to have over 10,000 scouts meet. You couud either tent it or stay in the little tin huts like we did. It was fun, but a little noisey when it rained. Friday night for the cracker barrel we got we had Spam sandwhiches. You either liked them or not Saturday we got to work on merit badges. If you went to the adventure program you got to do Archery, Black Powder, 20 gauge and a rifle shooting. It was a great experience and it was fun to see all the people. There was also a museum you could go to and an Expo where they had a lot of neat things going on like; Dog training, Short wave radio and a bunch nof other stuff. You could also go to the Ripley museum and climb on some of the miltary equipments if you wanted. The most fun part was the last night were they shot off fireworks. We had to battle the weather for a severe storm but after an hour or so of sitting in the shelter it finally past and everyone was ok. (Jacob Z.)
