What: Draft Horse Logging Campout
When: Jan 24th - 26th, 2020
Where: Tomahawk Scout Reservation, N1910 Scout Rd. Birchwood, Wi. 54187
Cost: See registration below. This is only for 17 Scouts total, starting with the older patrols.
Information:
Trailer Loading/Travel:
- Friday Jan 24th at 3:00, meet at WCC. Leave after packing. Please check your emails for updated departure times.
Unloading/Travel: Sunday Jan 26th approximately 12:00pm at WCC.
* All drivers - it is IMPORTANT to be there on time, so we can leave promptly after packing
Camp out Events:
Saturday: All sorts of Fun!
Items to Bring: Warm clothing including long underwear. Remember: Siempre Listo(Be Prepared)!
Reminder: Please wear Class A uniforms when traveling to/from camp outs!
Potential Activities: Cutting and hauling logs truly "Old School" with methods from 1893.
Quinzees: Learn to build a snow hut and how important this can be for winter survival.
Blacksmithing Forge your very own tomahawk.
Two-Man Saw Use a two-man saw and take home your very own log cut-off.
Branding Choose from a selection of branding irons to make your mark on a log, hat, or hiking boot.
Evening Programs After dinner, the legendary Lumberjack campfire. The staff tell tall tales, riddles, and jokes you'll love. Afterwards enjoy some Dutch oven treats.
Log Cabin Bunkhouse Stay the night in our 160 year old log cabin bunkhouse. It has room for 4 patrols plus adults.
