Scout Sunday 2015
Troop 283,
Scout Sunday is an annual day of showing our Scouting pride and principles at our places of worship. This year the official date of Scout Sunday is February 8th.
Most churches will be observing this event on the 8th, however Wayzata Community Church will be acknowledging Scouting on February 1st. You will find a list of local churches
that we know will be working with Pack and Troop 283 to recognize our scouts and allow us to serve the church on that Sunday.
Below is an announcement we hope to have posted in all local church bulletins regarding our 100th anniversary. If you are affiliated with a church that is not listed below,
and can forward this information to the appropriate party we would greatly appreciate it. The more exposure our 100th year celebration receives the better.
In 2015 Boy Scout Troop 283 in Wayzata will be celebrating its 100th year of service to its community. In 1915, just 5 years after the Boy Scouts of America was founded,
a small group of adults founded the Troop in Wayzata and begin to register the local boys in the Troop. The Troop has stood the test of time and is proud to be a rich part of
Wayzata's heritage the past 100 years. The Troop begins its year-long celebration of this milestone today on Scout Sunday, which is also the 105th anniversary of the
Boy Scouts of America. If you or someone you know had an affiliation with Troop 283, please contact the Troop atteam100@troop283.net so they can keep you up to date
on all the special celebrations and events the troop has planned for the upcoming year. Our formal celebration will take place on Nov. 15th at Wayzata Community Church so
be sure to save the date. Thank you for supporting Scouting and helping Troop 283 celebrate this very special anniversary!
Thank you for your support of Scouts on this special day and remember to wear your Class A uniform when you attend church that Sunday.
